We can never get enough of the amazing dream room makeovers that Sunshine on a Ranney Day provides to children with long term illness and their families. The true joy and light that is brought into these homes during such stressful times is beautiful inspiration for us all. The latest incredible makeover is for an exceptional 11-year-old named Kyle who is battling Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Despite dealing with loss of mobility and muscle function, Kyle’s unwavering determination lets nothing stand in his way. This includes becoming a college football coach when he grows up, possibly for his favorite sports program Florida State University! His dream makeover will include room for his wheelchair and medical equipment as he grows older, and Kyle himself makes sure everyone knows a couple of FSU Seminole-inspired components he would love to include:
It truly is amazing to hear this young man talk about the importance of “Attitude” as he fights a rare genetic disorder that most children his age have never even heard of. Oh yeah, Kyle loves dark hardwood flooring just like I do! Now that is something that Mohawk Flooring can definitely take care of: Mohawk Flooring has had the privilege of partnering on life-changing SOARD projects since 2013. As part of the partnership, Mohawk provides tough, durable flooring for the toughest kids on the planet- like Kyle!
Kyle’s dream room makeover included Mohawk Woodmore Hardwood flooring in the color Oak Shale:

Here are some before and after images of Kyle’s new FSU-inspired bedroom, perfect for rooting on his favorite sports team during times he must rest. It’s a bright, clean space for this fearless kid:

…After Sunshine on a Ranney Day Makeover!
Sunshine on a Ranney Day turned Kyle’s room into an inspired area where he can chase his coaching dreams. Not to mention, the dark hardwood pairs perfectly with the bright walls and provides a smooth, durable surface for his wheelchair to move on:
Coach Kyle was even presented personally with an autographed FSU helmet by Warrick Dunn, former Atlanta Falcons running back and Florida State Alumni, as well as a personal video message from the man Kyle most wants to be like, Coach Jimbo Fisher. We can’t think of anyone more deserving and know that he and his family will cherish the makeover forever.
