Hey party people!
Kristin hosted a Q&A time with Taniya.
Taniya also participated in the $20,000 room makeover giveaway by helping the winners design the room. Here are the winners, along with Justin (from Builders Floor Covering) and Taniya.
The part I got to participate in was the design of the event. The only kicker was…I couldn’t be there. It was the same day as my sister’s wedding so I set everything up in advance. (Thanks so much to Christa, Jennifer, John, Justin & Brian who helped make sure everything was in place the day of the event)
This was my inspiration for the event.
The Builders Floor Covering showroom is like the Orlando Bloom of showrooms, so I wanted the event to look chic & fresh (a kind of Miranda Kerr match to the Orlando Bloom room).
This was how it turned out…
One of the elements I incorporated into the event were what I called, “pop-up tags.” I made 20 tags to place all over the store on different product pieces.
Some were informational.
Some had a little personality to them.
Others had some great decorating tips from Taniya.
Enough of the tags…lets talk about something more exciting!
(Doesn’t Taniya look like so much fun? If you don’t watch her shows, you should. She’s great at what she does & she adds a lot of fun to the shows)
Gigi’s cupcakes provided us with adorable mini cupcakes.
I created a display for the cupcakes out of marble sample pieces Builders Floor Covering already had. I used clear vases (I got from Home Goods) to stabilize the tiers and added faux flowers & gold washi tape to add some color.
I used the gold washi tape to add some detail to other aspects too…including the vases. The vases I used are old wine bottles & mason jars. I added the gold washi tape to create a gold trim, even stripes.
The wine is set on another beautiful sample piece that Builders Floor Covering had on hand.
O Wine is what was served, & it’s a wine that gives the majority of it’s profit to help underpriveleged women.
You can read more about it on their facebook page (their main site is going through some updates).
Thanks so much to everyone that worked so hard on this event!
