Hey party people!
Summer is the time for late night star-gazing…
…cruising down the road with your windows rolled down
…catching fireflies in glass jars
…and backyard campouts with the kids.
Of course, no camp out is complete without the delicious treat of s’mores.
I started thinking the other day.
What if we started thinking outside of the graham cracker? What kind of combinations could we come up with?
How about putting that toasted marshmallow in between one of our favorite cookies? Like an oreo!
But don’t stop there. What about a chocolate chip cookie? Or even an oatmeal cookie?
Of course, we could go really crazy and create a combination that mimics one of our favorite desserts.
Shortbread cookies with strawberry jam next to the toasted marshmallow and melted white chocolate.
So, you may not be daring enough to try the strawberry shortcake, but who can resist the combination of chocolate & peanut butter?
Adding a Reese’s peanut butter cup instead of the regular chocolate piece takes this smore to a whole new level.
If you are one of those people that hoard thin mints in your freezer, this is the smore for you!
By adding a few Andes mints to the graham and marshmallow, it creates just enough mint to make you go, “yum.”
Personally, I love when the sweet and salty come together. It’s perfect harmony.
That’s just what this is. The saltiness and crispness of the cracker combined with the sweetness of the marshmallow & chocolate is heavenly.
So, next time you find yourself standing in front of the fire pit with a wire hanger & marshmallow…
throw on your favorite candy bar
add a slice of banana
create a sandwich out of your favorite cookie
…think outside the graham and do something a little crazy.
