This year, Mohawk Flooring is excited to announce our partnership with Sunshine on a Ranney Day (SOARD), a wonderful nonprofit organization based in Atlanta, GA that creates dream room makeovers for children with long-term illnesses. As part of our partnership, we will be providing SmartStrand Forever Clean carpets for use in all of the dream room makeovers.
It’s the perfect fit! SmartStrand Forever Clean carpet is the toughest carpet on the planet and SOARD provides makeovers for the toughest kids on the planet.
Last week, we were thrilled to be a part of the dream makeover reveal for Oliver, a sweet three year old boy born with two rare genetic conditions: Phelan-McDermid Syndrome and a partial Trisomy 9. Oliver has severe physical, developmental, and cognitive delays and receives extensive in-home therapies to facilitate improved muscle control, cognition and communication. Despite his physical limitations, Oliver is a sweet, joyful child whose favorite thing in the world is a bear hug from his Daddy.
Sunshine on a Ranney Day turned Oliver’s home into a bright, joyful place, complete with plenty of Oliver’s favorite character: Mickey Mouse. The project also included remodeling of the floor and bathrooms so that they are now wheelchair accessible, a bedroom makeover for Oliver, and transforming the family dining room into a therapy suite so that Oliver can get all of the necessary therapies at home.
Here are some before and after images of Oliver’s dining room turned therapy suite and Oliver’s new bedroom. The aptly named Calm Reflection SmartStrand Forever Clean carpet looks beautiful in the therapy suite and Oliver’s room. The Sequoyah Dusk color really brightens up each room!
