Pink is a color that is seen everywhere during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. That is because the likelihood that you know someone or have seen someone battling breast cancer is incredibly high. In 2017 alone, it’s estimated that over 250,000 cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed. In addition to new diagnoses, over 40,000 people will lose their battle with breast cancer by the end of this year.
Those statistics are just part of the reason why Mohawk is so proud to partner with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and help lead the charge in fighting back against breast cancer. Since 2001, Mohawk has contributed over $5 million to the Komen Foundation through the sale of our pink SmartCushion and other donations along with the continued love and support of all our employees.

During this month, it’s our goal to raise awareness about the causes and effects of breast cancer as well as how to help find a cure. For decades, the people at the Komen Foundation have been doing everything they can to help save the lives of millions of people. Through scientific research, awareness campaigns and fundraising events like its 3-Day series, the Foundation has been help to help drop the breast cancer mortality by nearly 30% since 1989.
That commitment to raising awareness and finding a cure is why Mohawk decided to partner with this amazing foundation nearly two decades ago. The early days of our partnership laid the foundation for us to work together and achieve a common goal. We won’t give up until nobody has to worry about anyone in this world ever battling breast cancer again.
