Hey party people!
I always say that a party’s main objective is to celebrate someone special in your life. No matter what goes wrong, if that person feels special, you have created a successful party.
Someone that is very special in our lives (my husband & mine) is our dog Guiness. He’s super sweet and, since we don’t have kids, he’s like our little baby.
Now you can see how we have a problem resisting those eyes.
We are “those” dog parents. The ones that take way too many pictures of our dog. The ones that have our own language for talking to our dog. The ones that have a separate email address for our dog, so while we’re gone our dog sitter can send us messages from him. The ones that may/may not have thrown Guiness a birthday party. I can’t believe that I am admitting all of this.
So it should come as no surprise that, for special occasions, we make Guiness homemade doggie treats.
This is my favorite recipe I’ve made and Guiness absolutely loves it!
HOMEMADE DOG BISCUIT Recipe (Healthy & Gluten Free)
Preheat Oven: 350 degrees
1 4 oz. organic baby food jar (any kind…just make sure there’s no onion powder or onions in the ingredients)
1 cup gluten free all-purpose flour
1/4 cup kale (optional)
Use a food processor to finely chop the kale (if using). Mix the baby food, kale, and flour together until it forms a dough. Depending on the type of baby food, you may need to add a little more flour. It needs to have the consistency of cookie dough. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface. Use doggie bone cookie cutters or other shapes to create the biscuits. Bake for 18-20 minutes. Makes 8-10 biscuits.
Best if stored in a freezer until ready to serve to your dog.
Guiness loves the biscuits made with the pea baby food, but he’s also very fond of the corn & butternut squash mix.
Hope your furry friend enjoys them as much as he does!

Here’s to celebrating the special people in our lives…whether that’s people or animals!
