640xHoliday Home Tour Graphic2

Hi everyone, it’s Amy from 11 Magnolia Lane. The holidays are just right around the corner, aren’t they? I have a confession to make, I love driving around at night to see all the houses lit up with lights during this time. Homes can look so magical when you look from the outside in and they seem to just “glow.” Don’t you just love getting a glimpse inside a lit window of beautiful holiday decor?

What is even better is when you get a chance to step inside a perfectly decorated home all styled for the holidays. Today I have some of my favorite “virtual” home tours for you–no need to drive around and traipse in and out in the cold. Simply pull up a chair, pour some eggnog and enjoy the tours!

Each year at 11 Magnolia Lane we run a “Holiday Open House” series where we invite other bloggers to share their holiday inspiration and decor. We have had some gorgeous homes shared on our site these last few years. It is always an eclectic mix of holiday decor, colors, and trends from the different homes from different areas, yet they are all festive and lovely.

The “South” has a signature style at the holidays…be it bows, monograms, magnolia wreaths or cheerful colors, so we’ll start with one of our most favorite homes, which belongs to Amanda of Dixie Delights.

Another favorite home in the “Southern” style belongs to Heather of Southern State of Mind. She mixed plaid, color and polka dots in her holiday decor.

In a similar colorful fashion, the high-style on a low-budget home of Pam at Simple Details, who hails from out West, is full of elegant holiday inspiration and beautiful decor.

A slightly more modern but similarly elegant home is seen here in Sarah from Life on Virginia Street’s mid-western home. She effectively adds plaid and some holiday accents for an effortless seasonal style.

One of my favorite holiday homes is just jam-packed with inspiration, this home belongs to a friend of my co-blogger at 11 Magnolia Lane, Christy, who graciously allowed us to photograph and feature her home. What you won’t believe is that all this gorgeous vintage decor showcased here is in military housing!?!

And while we are touring military housing, Christy’s home tour from last year shows off her talent for turning their temporary (also military) quarters into a festive space for entertaining and her family holiday.

If you would like to see more of my home, I can show you last year’s tour since I am still decorating for this year {please tell me I am not the only one?}. We’ve moved since the holidays last year, so this year’s home tour will look very different. This was my screened porch all decorated for the holidays last year, a little hot chocolate is a necessity on the porch on a crisp winter day, isn’t it?
