Hey party people!
It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is just two weeks away!
If you are beginning to feel overwhelmed, let me put your mind at ease. Here is an easy way to create an entire tablesetting with one main item. Within a few minutes, you can have your table looking warm & cozy…giving you that extra time you need to finish the Thanksgiving dishes and enjoy your friends & family.
Start with purchasing faux birchwood paper, like this one from Amazon. You get 12 pieces in one pack but you may be able to buy them individually at your local craft store.
Using the paper, cut out a strip about 2″ thick. Cut a paper towel roll in two inch sections and then glue the birch paper strip around one of the sections. You can add a “carved initial” to it, leave it plain, or add some twine around it.
Faux birchwood paper isn’t just useful for napkin rings. Use it to create beautiful birchwood centerpieces…like this one…
Take a piece of birch paper, wrap it around a jar or vase and secure with double-sided tape.
Some other options for the birch paper is to:
– Use as placemats
– Form a cone with the paper & use as birchwood (cone) tree centerpieces
– Create menu placecards for each setting
You don’t have to create a napkin ring from a paper towel holder, you could also take the birch paper and just wrap it around the napkin.
Are you a traditionalist when it comes to Thanksgiving? Do you always use the same plates and linens or do you prefer to change it up each year?
