Sunshine on a Ranney Day (SOARD), the Atlanta based organization that provides dream room makeovers for children with long-term illnesses, has once again changed the lives of a local family. At just five months old, Ayden suffered an anoxic brain injury during a seizure. Due to neurological damage, he has lost all of his motor skills, incurred a cortical visual impairment and suffers from decreased muscle tone.

Through it all, Ayden continues to inspire with his joyous and unwaveringly positive attitude. His passion for life and animals, especially the ocean and dolphins, helped to inspire his makeover surprise. SOARD was able to create a wheelchair accessible bathroom and beautiful bedroom which will greatly help Ayden and his family to handle everyday tasks.

Since 2013, Mohawk Flooring has partnered with Sunshine on a Ranney Day to help change the lives of children who battle long term illnesses, and was thrilled to donate Bayview Laminate Flooring in Nutmeg Chestnut to the project.

Here are some before and after images of Ayden’s new ocean oasis. If you want to see just how incredible this makeover was, watch everyone’s reaction during the big reveal:
