Hey party people!
Are you excited that warmer weather is on the way? It seems like winter has dragged on this year. I, for one am looking forward to seeing flowers bloom and the beautiful colors of spring appear.
If you’re tired of the drab colors of winter, Pantone’s 2014 Spring Colors will be just the thing to cheer you up.
Download a PDF of these colors here.
These colors are a wonderful palette to brighten up your home, inspire your decor and help you entertain. I decided to use this palette to inspire a tablesetting that is welcoming and cheery.
There are more colors than the Celosia Orange, Paloma, and Freesia, but these are the main colors.
These plates were the foundation of my inspiration. You can see that they have the Cayenne, Paloma, Placid Blue, and Hemlock colors in them.
Whenever I do a tablesetting, there is usually an anchor piece that inspires the whole thing. In the case of these plates, since there was a lot going on pattern-wise, the rest of my tablesetting was simple.
Everything that you see here was very budget-friendly. The plates are from Target, the napkins from Homegoods, the runner was a gray tablecloth I already had, the gray “vase” was actually a lantern I found at HomeGoods, and everything else was stuff I already had around the house.
When I spotted the gray lantern, I immediately fell in love. I wanted something with some height for the table and it was perfect. It even had a glass “vase” inside that is supposed to be used for a candle. Instead, I used that to hold my flowers.
I created this tablesetting a little strange. Instead of having the centerpiece in the actual center of the table, it was on the far end. Don’t be afraid to do that, especially if most people will see the length of your dining table instead of the width. In order to create a cohesive look, I grouped my three pieces in a stair step order. First is this DIY marble serving tray (to make your own, click here), my milk glass pedestal bowl, and my gray lantern.
There’s something about seeing the beautiful bright colors on my table that makes me smile. Try to use the Spring Pantone Color palette to inspire your own beautiful tablesetting.
If nothing else, grab a bunch of flowers for a colorful, smile-inducing centerpiece.
Hope you have a wonderful spring!
